2026 Front Wheel Drive / Team Show Rules for Florence Speedway
2026 TEAM DERBY (Front Wheel Drive)
1. All judge ’s rulings are final. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO INSPECT CARS AT ANY TIME. INCLUDING DRILLING AND SCOPING FRAME RAILS. WE WILL DRILL FRAMES
2. 1980 or newer cars. Pre ran cars ok. If running a pre ran doesn’t mean you can crease, tuck or weld on anything. We can tell the difference.
3. YOU CAN CREASE QUARTER PANELS ONLY
4. Cars must be 100% stock!!! No aftermarket cradles, struts or spindles TIE RODS OR REAR TRAILING ARMS. No cross breeding. Entire drive line must be same as car. (Chevy to Chevy, Ford to Ford). Must be factory engine. Pipes through hood ok.
5. Drivers door may be welded. All other doors must be chained or wired. No more than 6 places. Door Plates are mandatory. .025 thick. 2” overlap on front and rear of door.
6. Trunks must be chained or wired. No more than 6 places. TRUNKS MUST BE OPEN DURING INSPECTION! No welding or adding metal. No welding washers for holes.
7. Hoods may be bolted in 2 places sheet metal to sheet metal. No all thread. May be wired or chained in 4 spots. ¼” chain or 2 strands of wire per hole. It must be sheet metal to sheet metal only ¾” BOLTS MAX. No welding washers for holes. Must be 12” hole in hood in case of fire. Hood must be open for inspection. Remove hood latch.
8. Must use tires. Must be stock wheels. Any tire ok. NO BARE WHEELS. MUST HAVE RUBBER.
9. Gas tanks may be moved or left in stock position. Fuel cell preferred but stock tanks ok. Must be secured and does not move. No gas tank protectors. Gas Tank holder is permitted, Holder must be 4” off floor hump and 5” from back wall of seat.
10. Battery can be moved to passenger seat. Must be secured and covered. If left in stock location, you can use spray foam around battery. Only 1 battery.
11. Windshield can be removed. If removed must run 2 windshield bars. One in front of driver other in middle of cowl. MANIDTORY
12. The following must be removed prior to entering fairgrounds. Windows, headlights, tail lights, all chrome and mirrors. Interior must be swept clean of debris and glass.
13. Stock springs and shocks. No solid suspensions. Spring risers ok, 2 per spring. Wire chains or any weld on rear end spring pockets. Cars must bounce and be stock NOT TIRE BOUNCE, SUSPENSION MUST MOVE. Bottom of bumper heights. Car must sit no higher 21” from ground to bottom of bumper. No lower than 16” from ground to bottom of bumper.
14. Bar behind seat is highly recommended. 4 point floating cage and rollover bar ok. No bigger than 4” x 4” tubing. ROLL BAR GOES STRAIGHT UP NO MORE THAN 4” FROM B PILLER, WHERE THE PILLER MEETS DOORS. Can not be welded to roof. Use gussets off back bar. Back bar can be welded to a 6” plate off B pliar. 4” x 4” max bar. Gas tank holder off back bar. 4” OFF FLOOR HUMP AND 5” OFF BACK WALL OF SEAT.
15. Car must look and be stock
16. Paint drivers door in orange or yellow.
17. Battery may be moved inside of car. 1 battery only. If moved it must be secured and covered. If left in stock you can spray foam around battery.
18. Bumpers can be welded on including bumper shocks. OEM OR AP ROBINSON OR DEC TYPE
19. BUMPERS ONLY MUST BOLT TOGERTHER NO WELDING. BUMPER MUST NOT BE NO WIDER THAN MIDDLE OF FRONT TIRES. NO POINTY BUMPERS. TUBE BUMPER 3” X 6” MAX. Ends must be open. BUMPER SHOCKS ALLOWED TO BE WELDED 6” ON OUTSIDE FRAME RAIL. 2”X2” TUBE MAX.
20. Read rules carefully and follow them! This is a cheap and easy build. Any questions call! There will no starching or bending of rules. NO REFUNDS!!!!!
21. Once cars are inspected, they will be put in an impound area. No one is allowed to touch car in impound area.
22. All car numbers must be legible.
23. YOU ONLY HAVE 2 TIMES TO GET THROUGH TECH.
24. 4” x 4” FIX PLATES. 4 EA.
25. NO WELDING TO SUB FRAME.
26. NO FIX PLATE WELDED TO K MEMBER
27. NO K MEMBER WELDED TO FRAME
