For those planning on coming this week to mark their camping spots for this year’s Sunoco North/South 100, we’d like to remind everyone of the procedures for this year.
The entrances to the speedway parking lots will be closed prior to 12 pm on Thursday July 30th. You will not be able to get on the speedway grounds until then.
For those who want to camp in the frontstretch or turn 3-4 areas, you can park beginning Thursday July 30th at 12 pm. However, you cannot use caution tape, stakes, or anything else to mark spots until Saturday at 12 pm.
For those wanting to stage for the turn 1 or turn 2 fields, staging opens Thursday July 30th at 12 pm.
Those wanting to camp in the fields outside Turn 1, you will stage at the gate outside turn 1.
Those wanting to camp on the backstretch or in the large field outside turn 2, you will stage in the pit area.
See the attached image for a breakdown of the split.
You will not be able to cross between the two areas until after the initial rush, so make sure you are in the staging area for the area you want to camp.
This arrangement is only for the opening day of camping. The camping areas will open Saturday August 1st at 12 pm. After that, all camping access will be through the turn 1 gate as in previous years.
